TRIABUNNA District School is officially top of the class when it comes to its canteen.
Last month, the Tasmanian School Canteen Association and the Education Minister Jeremy Rockliff singled out the school for its high performance when it comes to providing healthy and nutritious choices in the tuck shop.
And Canteen Manager Tamara Butcher was named manager of the year.
The 2019 award winners were:
- Minister of Education’s Award for Canteen of the Year – Triabunna District School;
- Canteen Manager of the Year – Tamara Butcher – Triabunna District School;
- Environmentally Friendly Canteen –Triabunna District School and Perth Primary School;
- Volunteer of the Year –Fiona Hutchins of Triabunna District School and Michelle Palmer of Rokeby Primary School
“Congratulations to all our schools who nominated for the Canteen Awards as we had some fantastic entries,’’ a spokesperson for the awards said.
“Well done to all schools who achieved these Awards and especially Triabunna District School who scored highly in all four award categories.
“All applications were of a high standard so well done to all those schools that nominated.’’
