Montana aiming high

Montana in front of her craft stall at the Triabunna flower and craft show

TRIABUNNA’S Montana Marshall is back home, back at school and is hoping to compete in the Australian Transplant Games next year.

Having undergone a second double lung transplant at Melbourne’s Royal Children’s Hospital earlier this year, Montana was working hard at the recent Triabunna Flower Show where she had a craft store.

Selling her popular hair clips, scrunchies, jewellery, stuffed toys and more, the bubbly and brave 14 year old is raising money to help her to the games.

Just over two years ago, Montana was flow by medivac to Victoria for her first double lung transplant, which sadly after 18 months her body rejected.

Montana underwent a second transplant earlier this year and was away from home and friends for months.

The 2020 Australian Transplant Games will be held in Launceston from September 27 to October 3.

The Games are an inspirational event promoting the gift of life, giving recipients the opportunity to improve their health and fitness and the opportunity to say thank you.

The event demonstrates tangible benefits of donation, showing that people who were once terminally ill can resume an active lifestyle.

This event is also a wonderful opportunity to encourage Tasmanians to become organ donors.

They can do so at: www.donatelife.gov.au
