When the day hands you puddles make a splash! And a splash the Koonya Garlic Festival certainly made on a rainy Valentine’s Day in February. After the glorious weather of the inaugural festival held in 2014 that shrouded an impenetrable magical halo around the event, this year in stark contrast festival organisers woke not to iridescent skies but sodden clouds sagging ominously in dark skies and braced themselves for a ‘wash out’. They could not have been more wrong! Organisers conservatively estimate that more that more 1,500 garlic lovers braved the inclement weather to celebrate Tasmania’s garlic harvest in style!
