Last year the Festival of Voices unplugged itself from its city base thrilling audiences the breadth of Tasmania’s stunning East Coast. A joint initiative between organisers of the Festival of Voices and Glamorgan Spring Bay Council, the inaugural event was a resounding success, so much so that it is once again heading East in July from 17th – 19th bringing with it a sensational smorgasbord of musical talent.
The Bush land Gardens at Buckland again kicks off the festival with an open air concert featuring ARIA award winning singer Deborah Conway who has been nominated Rolling Stone singer of the year and who has made a significant contribution to Australian music over the years. She will be working in collaboration with Willy Zygier – a seductive and thought provoking composer. Together (and apart) they have composed and recorded more than a dozen albums, including their most recent release ‘Stories of Ghosts’ that received 4 star reviews from major Australian publications. Acoustic based folk both haunting and evocative. Unmissable. When: Friday 17th July from 6-8.30pm.
