The community driven campaign to save historic Oak Lodge at Richmond was given a boost when Premier Lara Giddings launched a limited edition medallion at the historic property. Sales of the medallion go towards the Coal River Valley History Society’s push to save the unique 1830s building from being sold by the National Trust. The Premier has also assisted CRVHS with $9600 for a business plan to secure Oak Lodge as a house museum and community history hub. The medallion’s designers Roger McNeice OAM and Bob Wansbourgh stepped in to donate their expertise after Roger attended an open day at Oak Lodge in May this year. “Medallions are mirrors of history and we felt it was necessary to commemorate this wonderful building and help raise funds to preserve it,” said Mr McNeice.
