Supporting our police could do your heart good

A good idea from new Tasman Peninsula police Constable, John McGuinness, could soon be adopted by police state-wide.

Constable McGuinness’ idea to have a defibrillator installed into his car was deemed such a good idea by his supervisor that the Tasmanian Police Department are now considering installing them in other remote area police vehicles, pending funding.

Constable McGuinness who transferred to the Nubeena station, from Hobart CIB, in early July said he had initially thought of the idea as a way to make contacts within the community while providing a necessary service at the same time.
