Alderman Kerry Vincent successfully stepped up to the position of Mayor of the Sorell Municipality on Tuesday (Nov. 6) after contesting in the recent bi-elections. The election was the result of ex- Mayor Carmel Torenius’ resignation in September. It is the first time a male mayor has held the position in the electorate for 18 years.
Cr. Vincent won the position with a margin of approximately 60%, and will hold the position for the next 12 months, when normal Council Elections will be held in October.
